Passports will be issued in 3 days

Now , passports will be issued in 3 days

New Delhi: The government is all set to issue regular passports in three days and Tatkal ones the same day. As part of the Passport Seva Project , foreign minister S M Krishna will inaugurate four Passport Seva Kendras which will make this possible , in Karnataka on Friday.

Government sources said 77 such centres will come up across the country by the end of this financial year. These centres will ensure issuance of Tatkal passports to applicants within hours. The Passport Seva Project aims to issue passports in three days as against the current 45 days. A parliamentary panel had earlier this month blamed the external affairs ministry for failing to meet the deadline for the project. It was supposed to have been launched in July last year.

The contract for implementing the Rs 1 , 000 crore project was given to TCS in October 2008. Passport Seva Project aims to provide passport-related services to citizens in a speedy , convenient and transparent manner.

In the new system , soon after the application is submitted , the verification list will be forwarded to the district police chief. The same day , it will be segregated station-wise and forwarded to the respective police stations. Police personnel will download the applications , complete verification , upload it again and send it back to the DCP or SP's office with digital signature of the station house officer.

Records of the person will be verified again with the city crime information centre and will be forwarded back to the passport office.

Safeguard yourself from credit card frauds

In recent times, there have been a spate of news items revealing a credit card fraud. In one such item, two youngsters were caught duping credit card holders by offering them new credit cards with higher credit limits by trading in their old credit cards. The youngsters then used the old cards to make their purchases, mostly electronics. This is how they laid the plot.
They would call up credit card holders representing themselves as employees of the credit card company. They would inform these clueless customers about a new scheme about new credit cards with greater purchase limits in exchange of old ones. Then they would also inform customers that the company's representative would soon visit them with the new card, which would be activated as soon as they filled in a form!
This news only reinstates the importance of being a vigilant customer and using credit cards with utmost prudence. Here are a few things one can do:
1. If you lose your credit card, it is necessary to inform your credit card company immediately. This will enable the card issuer to freeze the card with immediate effect and prevent any purchases on the card. The important thing for you is that your liability is limited once you inform the credit card issuer.
2. Destroy your old card completely before you begin using your new card. This is important even if your old card has expired or you are upgrading your card.
3. Keep your card in a safe place and do not allow other people to handle it.
4. Be prudent about signing up for new offers. Double-check the genuineness of the scheme. A simple way to verify genuineness of any scheme is to call up the credit card company and inquiring with them.
5. Change your PIN at regular intervals. Do not use obvious PIN like birth dates.
6. Inform your credit card company immediately if you do not receive your monthly credit statement. It could be a case of identity theft where the fraudster has changed your billing address.
7. Use chip based credit cards. These cards offer better security than credit cards with black magnetic stripes. This is because in a chip based card, all information is stored in the small chip in encrypted format and it also uses a PIN. This makes changing or copying this data extremely difficult.
8. So, the chance of data being misused while swiping the card is very remote. It is the highest level of security that credit card companies can offer at present. Citibank and Kotak Mahindra issue chip based cards to select high range customers. Axis bank's VISA Platinum card is also chip-based. HDFC Bank also has begun issuing these cards.
9. Be careful while shopping online. This is because you are required to give the CVV number for making purchases over the Internet. For this, be sure you shop only from secure websites. Ensure that the website is certified by VeriSign. Look for a yellow lock on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
10. If you have a large credit limit on your card and use it frequently for several purchases including online and telephone purchases, it is a good idea to get your card insured. You cannot prevent credit card fraud but at least minimize its impact on your financial stability! You can protect yourself from fraudulent charges on your card up to 12 hours before reporting the loss to the credit card issuer.

Check Your PF Account Online

What if the government is spending sleepless nights in its efforts to table the Budget on July 6 and India's entire industrial empire awaiting a new era of sops, for Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) subscribers, there is already some good news.

From now on, employees would no longer have to go through the tedious and rather long process of knowing the nitty-gritty's of their PF account. All the information which they want to track would be just a 'click' away in a few days.

The reason behind the provision of this new facility is that all the accounts, across the country, would now be made available online. That would definitely be no mean feat, specially when a country like India boasts of having some 4.5 crore PF subscribers.

The facility is expected to be fully functional from December this year, according to Labour Ministry sources. But the road so far has not been as smooth as expected, because making details of such a large number of subscribers available online was not easy.

EPFO officials say that computerizing its operation  took them eight years. Since April, a test run of the facility has been implemented.

According to officials, the subscribers using their EPF account numbers would be able to see their balance in the first phase. In the latter part of the project, which might see the light of the day in 2010, the subscribers would be able to view their contribution, interest accrued, status of application for advances, loans and a host of other activities.

Aspirin

Why keep aspirin by your bedside?
About Heart Attacks

There are other symptoms of a heart attack besides the pain on the left arm.  One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently. Note: There may be no pain in the chest during a heart attack. The majority of people (about 60%) who  had a heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up.  However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.   Afterwards - phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by - say "heart attack!"
- say that you have taken 2 aspirins.
- take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and...

Pakistan vs India

Reportedly written by a Pakistani journalist about
India...................

Capital suggestion
By Dr Farrukh Saleem
Here's what is happening in India :

The two Ambani brothers can buy 100 percent of every company listed on
the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and would still be left with $30
billion to spare.
The four richest Indians can buy up all goods and services produced over
a year by 169 million Pakistanis and still be left with $60 billion to
spare.
The four richest Indians are now richer than the forty richest Chinese.
In November, Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex flirted with
20,000 points. As a consequence, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries
became a $100 billion company (the entire KSE is capitalized at $65
billion). Mukesh owns 48 percent of Reliance.

In November, comes Neeta's birthday. Neeta turned forty-four three weeks
ago. Look what she got from her husband as her birthday present: A
sixty-million dollar jet with a custom fitted master bedroom, bathroom
with mood lighting, a sky bar, entertainment cabins, satellite
television, wireless communication and a separate cabin with game
consoles. Neeta is Mukesh Ambani's wife, and Mukesh is not India's
richest but the second richest. Mukesh is now building his new home,
Residence Antillia (after a mythical, phantom island somewhere in the
Atlantic Ocean ). At a cost of $1 billion this would be the most
expensive home on the face of the planet. At 173 meters tall Mukesh's
new family residence, for a family of six, will be the equivalent of a
60-storeyed building. The first six floors are reserved for parking. The
seventh floor is for car servicing and maintenance. The eighth floor
houses a mini-theatre. Then there's a health club, a gym and a swimming
pool. Two floors are reserved for Ambani family's guests. Four floors
above the guest floors are family floors all with a superb view of the
Arabian Sea . On top of everything are three helipads. A staff of 600 is
expected to care for the family and their family home.

In 2004, India became the 3rd most attractive foreign direct investment
destination.. Pakistan wasn't even in the top 25 countries.

In 2004, the United Nations, the representative body of 192 sovereign
member states, had requested the Election Commission of India to assist
the UN in the holding elections in Al Jumhuriyah al Iraqiyah and
Dowlat-e Eslami-ye Afghanestan. Why the Election Commission of India and
not the Election Commission of Pakistan? After all, Islamabad is closer
to Kabul than is Delhi .

Imagine, 12 percent of all American scientists are of Indian origin; 38
percent of doctors in America are Indian; 36 percent of NASA scientists
are Indians; 34 percent of Microsoft employees are Indians; and 28
percent of IBM employees are Indians.

For the record: Sabeer Bhatia created and founded Hotmail... Sun
Microsystems was founded by Vinod Khosla. The Intel Pentium processor,
that runs 90 percent of all computers, was fathered by Vinod Dham. Rajiv
Gupta co-invented Hewlett Packard's E-speak project. Four out of ten
Silicon Valley start-ups are run by Indians. Bollywood produces 800
movies per year and six Indian ladies have won Miss Universe/Miss World
titles over the past 10 years.

For the record: Azim Premji, the richest Muslim entrepreneur on the face
of the planet, was born in Bombay and now lives in Bangalore.India now
has more than three dozen billionaires; Pakistan has none (not a single
dollar billionaire) .

The other amazing aspect is the rapid pace at which India is creating
wealth. In 2002, Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh and Anil Ambani's father, left
his two sons a fortune worth $2.8 billion. In 2007, their combined
wealth stood at $94 billion. On 29 October 2007, as a result of the
stock market rally and the appreciation of the Indian rupee, Mukesh
became the richest person in the world, with net worth climbing to
US$63.2 billion (Bill Gates, the richest American, stands at around $56
billion).
Indians and Pakistanis have the same Y-chromosome haplogroup. We have
the same genetic sequence and the same genetic marker (namely: M124). We
have the same DNA molecule, the same DNA sequence. Our culture, our
traditions and our cuisine are all the same. We watch the same movies
and sing the same songs. What is it that Indians have and we don't?

INDIANS ELECT THEIR LEADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And also to mention: They think of Construction of own nation, unlike
other nations who are just concerned with destruction of others...
Simple answer why the Indian fare better than the Pakis'.. They don't
focus on religion and neither do they spend time and money in devising
ways to kill their own and everyone else over religion.
