Beachy Head - Suicide Rock

Beachy Head is a chalk headland in Southern England, close to the town of Eastbourne in the county of East Sussex, immediately east of the Seven Sisters. Beachy Head is located within the administrative area of the Eastbourne Borough Council which owns the land. The cliff there is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, rising to 162 m (530 ft) above sea level. The peak allows views of the south east coast from Dungeness to the east, to Selsey Bill in the west. Its height has also made it one of the most notorious suicide spots in the world.

Incredible Muscular Dog - Wendy

Maybe they should call her a whoppet - after all, she's a whopper of a whippet.
This is Wendy, the dog whose appearance is a long way from the usual long, lean and sleek look of her breed.

Beware: Wendy on the prowl

She was born with a genetic defect which has left her looking like the Incredible Hulk of Hounds.

While her head, heart, lungs and legs are the size of those of a normal whippet, her gene defect means she is "double muscled".

She weighs 4st4lb - twice as much as she should - and has bulging neck muscles, burly shoulders and haunches like a baboon. And unlike ordinary whippets known for their lithe and narrow frame, this four-year-old pedigree doesn't just have a sixpack stomach, she has a 24-pack.

Attractive Billboards world 2012

Berger Paints — Natural colors. Advertising Agency: JWT Mumbai — India

Yes, of course, posters on billboards in pure form - it is boring, boring and old. Outdoor stands but can not escape as long as people go out. Outdoor advertising is changing, is spreading to more and more media, advertising agencies are scratching their heads in search of innovative solutions that will stand out among the huge number of entries.

In search of a fresh, original and attention-stroke in outdoor advertising can reach a deadlock and hang standard billboards and city-formats. But it is better to go much further and create ads that will decorate this city, or draw attention to their "work" in the literal sense of the word. In this collection assembled the most original examples of outdoor advertising.

10 Marvelous Volcanic Plugs & Natural Monoliths

A volcanic plug, also called a volcanic neck, is a volcanic landform created when magma hardens within a vent on an active volcano. A natural monolith is a mountain or large rock formation consisting of a single massive stone. Both types of these geological structures are similar in that they are often steeply rising above the surrounding terrain. The unusual appearance and the buildings which are often located on these structures, amaze visitors and attract them to come back again.

Photo — Link

The Chapel of Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe is a fascinating little pilgrimage chapel perched atop a rocky needle of volcanic formation jutting dramatically high into the sky, at a place near Le Puy-en-Velay in France.

Photo — Link

The basalt needle on which the chapel is built rises approximately 280 feet (85 m), and is reached by 268 stone steps that wind their way up the side of the rock. The chapel is surrounded by a walkway that provides a beautiful view of the city with its Puy Notre Dame Cathedral and the old bridge crossing the cusps terminal.

The chapel was built in 962, to celebrate the return of Saint James from the pilgrimage. In 1429 the mother of Joan of Arc, Isabelle Romée, was said to have come to the site to pray. LinkMap

Art of Firewood

Alastair Heseltine, a sculptor from British Columbia, clearly takes two things very seriously: art and firewood. And he just may have the best woodpile I've ever seen.
