Johannesburg-born, London-based sculptor Jonty Hurwitz constructs incredibly complex anamorphic structures whose true forms can only be seen through precise perspectives. Some of his creations feature an abstract figure circling a metallic cylinder whose purpose is simply to reveal a recognizable shape within its reflection. In the piece titled Rejuvenation, the chrome cylinder in the center visually transforms what appears to be a misshapen mold of copper is into a grasping human hand.
Hurwitz's body of work also includes anamorphic content that is devoid of a reflective plane. In these pieces, the artist breaks down figures and spatially divides them in particular compositions. They are often accompanied by a circular peephole from which a viewer is meant to view the distorted pieces as its true, composed form. In either case, perspective is the key to unlocking the warped sculptures that Hurwitz constructs with scientific precision. Using 3D scanning and the power of p, the artist finds a way to assemble his meticulous pieces. He says, "Finding that line between art and science is the underlying motivator in my art life."

Playing with LEGOs is such fun, but getting to stay in a real-life LEGO hotel!? It's every kid's (and some parents') dream come true! This LEGO-themed hotel is located at LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, California, and it is scheduled to open on April 5, 2013. The 250-room hotel stands three stories high and features a large amount of colorful figures and sculptures, built completely out of LEGOs.
Visitors to the hotel will be able to select their favorite toy theme—Pirates, Kingdom, or Adventure—and experience the fun of the popular building bricks in a round-the-clock world of excitement. Every room is filled with decor that will transport hotel guests into a unique and imaginary land. Search your pirate's cabin for clues to crack the code to the treasure chest, avoid the toy tarantulas, lizards, and scorpions on a great jungle adventure, or fight off dragons and become a family of royalty in your own personal kingdom.
Artist Honey, founder of the website Sweet-Station, has discovered a unique way to turn bananas into art. The graphic artist and illustrator always has bananas around the house and, one day, she decided to draw on the outside peel. But, the pen kept poking through the skin so Honey picked up a safety pin and started illustrating through a creative pointillism technique. She makes small punctures in the skin, allowing air to reach the fruit. As the punctured banana peel turns brown, the organized patterns of dots reveal various and incredibly detailed designs, such as portraits of The Blues Brothers and Jim Morrison, as well as playful messages spread across a bunch, like "I want a banana split."
Each piece takes anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours to create and, when she's done, Honey takes a photograph and then eats her art as a snack!
The Ashikaga Flower Park

The Japanese love flowers, and wisteria are among their favorites. Wisteria (known as fuji in Japan) is said to be one of the archipelago's most ancient noted flowering trees, even being described in the collected poems of the Man'yoshu (Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves). One of the best places to view fuji flowers is the Ashikaga Flower Park in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture.

Ashikaga Flower Park features lots of blue, white and pink fuji, as well as yellow laburnum (Japanese: kingusari) that look like yellow colored fuji. Three massive wisteria trellises extend for more than 1000 square meters, in addition to a large trellis of rare double-petaled wisteria. One large fuji tree is 100 years old and its branches are supported to create a huge umbrella of blue fuji flowers.

There is also an 80-meter tunnel of white fuji flowers, while a tunnel of yellow kingusari needs a few more years to become an actual tunnel. Yae-fuji, a variety with more than the usual number of petals, can also be viewed.

Besides the fuji, you will find many other flowers, restaurants and a shop selling plants and local products. There are no English descriptions and very few foreign visitors. The entrance fee depends on the season's beauty and is around 1000 Yen per adult during the fuji peak season.

These stunning images showing abstract swirls of colours and patterns could be mistaken for a collection of paintings.
But they are in fact photographs of the breathtaking Hani Rice Terraces, found in the mountains above Yuanyang, in south-west China.
They are often described as the 'stairway to heaven' because of the vast layers of land reaching heights of up to 2000 meters above sea level.
