Daniel Giraud Elliot's Paintings Daniel Giraud Elliot (1835-1915) American born, D. G. Elliot was an important figure in the nineteenth century scientific community. He was one of the founders of the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the American ornithologist's union. He was also curator of zoology at the Field Museum in Chicago
