A frog hitches a lift on the back of a snail. Macro photographer Nordin Seruyan captured the unusual pairing by a pond in his garden in Central Borneo, Indonesia. He spotted the frog jumping onto the snail's back before it slowly slithered around the pond, with the frog still on his back.

Nina Caprez scales the near vertical 820ft wall of La Dent de Crolles with just a thin rope keeping her from plunging to the ground. Nina Caprez spent seven hours scaling the tricky route up the huge slab of rock - dubbed Carnet d'Adresses - found in the Chartreuse Massif, near Grenoble, France. The climb is so steep it has been likened to climbing glass, with few holds for climbers to cling onto. It has meant that only four people - including Nina - have ever successfully free climbed the peak.

Jesus Aceves, who has hypertrichosis - a skin condition where an abnormal amount of hair growth is present on the body - inserts a teaspoon into his nose during a rehearsal for the Circus of Horrors at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley, south east London. The circus has had to advertise advertised for a wolf man or woman on the government jobs website Directgov. The circus have Mexican wolf man, Aceves, but new UK Border Agency rules meant that before a worker can be granted a certificate of sponsorship, the company must advertise the job in Britain.

An alligator named Mr. Teeth is seen after it was discovered in a home in Castro Valley, California. Authorities say the alligator, apparently used to protect a stash of marijuana, has been taken to a zoo. When deputies entered Assif Mayar's home for a probation check, they found 34 pounds of marijuana and the alligator in a tank in the bedroom.
